Family’s treasuries || Tesouros familiares
This is my grandmother’s sewing machine and it’s now at my parent’s house. My parents did a great job keeping it as it was before my gran died: the thread “holder” that my grandfather made is still there, and so is the charming little rug. It’s like stepping into the past and I think it’s a beautiful way of preserving my grandfather’s memory!
Esta é a máquina de costura da minha avó e agora está em casa dos meus pais. Eu acho que eles conseguiram mantê-la fiel ao que era antes da minha avó morrer: o “arrumador” de linhas que o meu avô fez ainda lá está, assim como aquele tapete tão giro. É como por um pé no passado e eu acho que é uma maneira muito bonita de preservar a memória dos meus avós!

Garden || Jardim
The weather has been glorious lately (finally, a summer in England!!) and we did spend a lot of time in the garden this weekend: either reading, relaxing, having breakfast or actually gardening. There was a lot of plants and stuff already in the garden, and our contract states that we need to preserve the garden as it is. That means that I need to keep all the plants, but I can also add new ones. So I decided to plant most things in pots and only add a few petunias and other flowers (sorry, I don’t seem to recall their name!). I’m still learning a lot about gardening, so I hope I can plan my spring/summer garden during the winter!

O tempo tem estado fantástico ultimamente (finalmente, um verão em Inglaterra!!) e por isso passámos muito tempo no jardim durante o fim-de-semana: a ler, relaxar, tomar o pequeno almoço e também a jardinar. Quando nos mudámos já havia algumas plantas no jardim e o contrato diz que temos que manter o jardim como está. Isso significa que tenho que manter todas as plantas que lá estão, mas posso também acrescentar algumas novas. Decidi plantar umas quantas petúnias e outras (das quais não me lembro do nome!). Ainda estou a aprender imenso e espero poder planear o nosso jardim de primavera/verão em condições durante o inverno!

I miss making stuff very much, but for many reasons, I was not able to make anything lately. But, I hope to get back to my crafts soon!

Although I haven’t spend any time taking care of the garden, we have some plants and flowers that were already here. The roses are beautiful and smell amazing and there are so many of them! I can’t stop piking some and try to arrange them nicely.
Apesar de não ter passado tempo nenhum a cuidar do jardim, herdámos plantas e flores dos inquilinos anteriores. As rosas são lindas e cheiram maravilhosamente bem e há tantas! Não consigo parar de apanhar algumas e tentar fazer uns arranjos catitas.
