On Sunday we had a special lunch with some friends. They took us to the fabulous Glencot House, in Wells. The house is fabulous, both inside and outside and the grounds are just amazing. Inside is just like you are stepping into a film, the house is full of memorabilia and you are free to explore it. You can sit in the drawing room and have a drink, you can go to the library and read, you can watch a film (there’s a small cinema), play snooker, etc. The meal was very good and we had a wonderful time. It’s very nice when we discover a place that is so different from what we are use to see in Portugal… it’s just a bit magical, you know? I took a couple of pictures, but they don’t do the house any justice (the day was very gloomy), but you can check out some fabulous photos here.
No Domingo tivémos um almoço especial com amigos, que nos levaram à Glencot House, em Wells. A casa é fabulosa, quer por fora quem por dentro e a envolvência é fantástica. Quando se entra é como ser sugado para dentro de um filme, a casa está cheia de antiguidades e outras peças interessantes e temos completa liberdade para a explorar. Podemos sentar-nos na sala de estar e tomar uma bebida, ir até à biblioteca ler um livro, ver um filme (num pequeno cinema), jogar snooker, etc. A refeição estava muito boa e foi uma tarde mesmo bem passada. Sabe tão bem quando descobrimos um sítio assim, tão diferente daquilo a que estamos habituados a ver em Portugal… é um pouco mágico, certo? Tirei algumas fotos, mas não fazem justiça à casa (o dia estava muito tristonho!), mas podem espreitar algumas fotos fantásticas aqui.
