Bookmarks and books|| Marcadores de livro e livros
So I decided to make a bunch of bookmarks, some are old designs some are brand new. Bookmarks are fun to make and, at least for me, they are very useful since I love to read. I just finished “A Spot of Bother” by Mark Haddon and now I’m reading something very different: “The Little Black Book of Style“, by Nina Garcia. I think I will do a small note about this last book as soon as I finished it. It delivers a lot of great thought about style without being a fashion victim. Decidi fazer mais alguns marcadores de livro, uns são designs antigos, outros são novos. Gosto de fazer marcadores de livro, é divertido fazê-los e, pelo menos para mim, são muito úteis porque adoro ler. Acabei de ler “A Spot of Bother” de Mark Haddon e agora estou a ler algo muito diferente: The Little Black Book of Style“, de Nina Garcia. Acho que vou escrever algo sobre este último livro quando o terminar. Reúne uma série de ideias interessantes sobre estilo, sem nos tornarmos vítimas da moda. Book review: simple sewing
Simple Sewing, from Lotta Jansdotter is an amazing book! I love the design, the shape, the paper, the photos and the wonderful and clever ideas and projects. I also love the way Lotta tries to stimulate one’s creativity. It’s very easy to use, with all the patterns tucked into a folder. In this book Lotta gives great ideas: simple, yet sophisticated, clever and amazing!
I will visit my mum soon and I’m hoping we can get the time for some sewing lessons!
Simple Sewing, de Lotta Jansdotter é um livro fantástico! Adoro o design, a forma, o papel escolhido e as maravilhosas e inteligentes ideias e projectos. Também adoro a forma como a Lotta tenta estimular a criatividade de cada um. O livro é muito fácil de usar, com todos os moldes guardadinhos num envelope. Neste livro a Lotta dá-nos grandes ideias: simples mas sofisticadas, inteligentes e bonitas!
Vou visitar a minha mãe em breve e espero que haja tempo para algumas lições de costura!

Book review: Softies
This book is wonderful! You can see it was made with lots of care, everything is in place and it’s gorgeous to look. The photos are really fun and creative and that’s a big plus for me. I don’t think I’m going to make any of these softies, at least not for now, because I want to work on original designs instead, but the book is a great source of inspiration!
Este livro é fantástico! Consegue perceber-se que foi feito com muito cuidado e atenção, tudo está no sítio perfeito e é lindo de se folhear. As fotos são muito divertidas e criativas e isso é um grande pró para mim. Não planeio fazer nenhum destes bonecos, pelo menos para já, porque quero antes trabalhar em designs originais, mas este livro é, sem dúvida, uma grande fonte de inspiração!

book: toys to sew || livro: toys to sew
Toys to Sew is a good book. Not a great book, I shall say. It has good ideas, but not amazing ones, at least it didn’t pushed my creativity to the limit. I didn’t feel inspired, if you know what I mean. Anyway, it’s well written and the photos are pretty good!
It’s going to be a big weekend in the UK (bank holiday on Monday) and I hope I will have something new to show you after words! take care!
Toys to Sew é um bom livro: não é um livro fantástico, devo dizer. Tem boas ideias, mas não ideias maravilhosas, pelo menos não senti a minha creatividade a ser puxada aos limites. Não me senti inspirada… De qualquer forma, está bem escrito e as fotografias são boas!
Vai ser um fim de semana grande aqui no UK (é feriado segunda feira) e espero ter algo novo para vos mostrar depois! Até lá!

The Crafter’s Companion
“The Crafter’s Companion” is a great book. It’s a compilation of interviews to several crafters around the world (including Tania Ho, a portuguese crafter!!). Each artist talk about inspirations, creative spaces, why she creates and leave us a tutorial to something lovely. It was a great reading and I got very inspired. I like to read about other crafters, here they create, why they create… and specially, I like to look at photos of craft supplies, craft rooms… it feels so nice!
