the knitting continues || o tricot continua
Because it feels so good! Last time I was in Portugal, my dear Mom taught me how to make a cable-knit. She always teaches me something new every time I go there, which is quite great! Turns out the cable-knit it’s quite easy to make and look so good! I did not lose any time and started a new project right away. Looks good, ha?
Porque sabe muito bem! Da última vez que estive em Portugal a minha querida Mãe ensinou-me a tricotar tranças. Ela ensina-me sempre algo novo quando vou lá, o que é mesmo muito bom! Afinal tricotar tranças é bastante fácil e o resultado é tão bonito! Por isso não perdi tempo e pus logo mãos à obra, começando um novo projecto. Tem bom aspecto, ah?

A new scarf || Um cachecol novo
One colour that caught my attention on the new season colour forecast was mustard / ocre. I’m not a yellow person, I don’t know why… I just don’t have yellow stuff! But when I started designing the new pieces for Autumn / Winter I decided to give yellow a change! Specially since mustard does not scream YELLOW, it’s like a sophisticated yellow. Anyway, I realized how great mustard looks when combined with gray and with purple! I searched for some nice yarn and I found the perfect one (in this ebay store)… It was a pleasure to knit and it’s not too thick, it’s a great mid season yarn. My scarf is now ready and I just love it! I decided to add some personal touch and I made some gray flowers… what a lovely touch, don’t you think?
Uma cor que captou a minha atenção na previsão de cores para o nova estação foi o mostarda / ocre. Eu não sou pessoa de amarelo, não sei porque… simplesmente no tenho coisas amarelas! Mas quando comecei a desenhar as peças para a nova colecção Outono / Inverno decidi dar uma chance ao amarelo! Principalmente porque o mostarda não grita AMARELO, é uma espécie de amarelo sofisticado. Percebi o quão bem o mostarda fica com cinzento e com roxo! Procurei por um fio para tricotar e encontrei um perdeito (nesta loja do ebay). É muito agradável de tricotar e não é demasiado grosso, perfeito para a meia estação. O meu novo cachecol está agora pronto e gosto mesmo dele! Decidi dar um toque mais personalizado e fiz umas flores cinzentas… está bonito não acham?

To organize || Organizar
I’m a very organized person, I was always like this, since I was a child. I do not like messy spaces. To be organized really help my life, I can concentrate on other things and everything is less stressful. Because I’m knitting like crazy and buying some yarns I felt the need to have my projects organized. I search the web for a solution to my problem and I found something that is more than I was asking for: meet Ravelry, the knit and crochet community. It’s so well designed, full of wonderful features and the possibility to see wonderful projects and to meet people with the same style/ taste. Knitting is just a hobby, nevertheless now I can manage in a much more effective way my yarns and projects… wonderful!
Sou muito organizada, sempre fui assim, desde pequena. Não gosto de espaços desorganizados. Ser organizada ajuda muito a minha vida, posso concentrar-me noutras coisas e tudo é menos desgastante. Como ando a tricotar muito e a comprar algumas lãs/fios, senti a necessidade de algo que me ajudasse a ter as coisas organizadas. Fui uma busca na internet e encontrei algo que é muito mais do que podia pedir: Ravelry, a comunidade de tricot e crochet. Está muito bem organizado, cheio de funções fantásticas e com a possibilidade de ter acesso a imensos projectos e conhecer pessoas com os mesmos estilos. Tricotar é apenas um hobby, no entanto agora posso gerir as minhas lãs e projectos de uma maneira muito mais eficiente… fantástico!

to knit or not to knit? || tricotar ou não tricotar?
This year statement is: to knit! to knit a lot… It was not yet September and I had already 3 scarves ready… I never, ever knitted so early on the year, but that is one of the good things about living in England: apart from 2 months it’s always fairly good to knit. Because I’m knitting so much, and because it makes me feel do good (it really help me to forget about issues, life, stresses and so on…) I have to much yarn by now… can’t stop buying new yarns! Oh I don not have anything on this colour; I have in this colour bit it’s to long/short… the excuses are endless… but the feeling is exceptional!
A palavra de ordem deste ano é: trivotar! Tricotar muito… ainda não era Setembro e eu já tinha 3 cachecóis prontos… Nunca, nunca tricotei tão cedo no ano, mas essa é uma das coisas boas de viver em Inglaterra: tirando uns dois meses, está sempre bom para tricotar! Como gosto tanto de tricotar e como me faz tão bem (consigo mesmo esquecer assuntos chatos, stresses, vida, etc), por estas alturas tenho tantas lãs… não consigo parar de comprar uma nova! Ah não tenho nada nesta cor; Tenho nesta cor mas é muito curto/comprido… as desculpas não terminam… mas a sensação é excepcional!
